The Project
RDS 360 worked with Pets at Home to deliver a comprehensive laser scanned survey and 3D BIM model of an existing store. Our survey team captured the full building using high-accuracy laser scanners, producing a detailed and reliable measured building survey. Alongside this, we created an interactive 360° photographic tour using our Matterport platform, giving the client the ability to virtually navigate the space and review site conditions remotely.
Once the point cloud data was processed, our BIM team developed a precise 3D building shell, providing a robust foundation for future design development. Simultaneously, a dedicated team created a bespoke 3D library of equipment and fixtures, enabling the proposed layout to be quickly and accurately populated within the digital model.
This collaborative workflow streamlined the design process and set the stage for the next phase: integrating fixtures, fittings, and equipment data directly into the BIM model. Once complete, this intelligent model will enable automated scheduling, asset tracking, and detailed data analysis, giving Pets at Home full visibility and control over their retail environment.
